I have over clocked my i7 860 to 4.01ghz using this guide
http://www.techreaction.net/2010/09/07/3-step-overclocking-guide-lynnfield/

I have tried all stability testing (prime95 etc) and it seems to be solid.
But when the computer sleeps, it won't wake correctly and I have to hard reboot. Upon doing this I get a checksum error warning from BIOS and I tell it to use last known good, and off I go again, booting into same O.C settings.

Is this the overclock causing this wig out? o_O

I play BFBC2 for hours on end with highest settings and never have problems.

Put your CPU back to stock speeds, then put the computer to sleep and wake it. If the problem is gone, your overclock is causing it.

I too faced this mysterious problem. I solved it by slightly increasing the voltages on my ram vref and vtermination values. May work for you, may not, but worth a try.

I had this issue on a socket 939 board. I "solved" it by disabling sleep mode on the computer..
