At least you left her a tip. Instead of certain people who like to think they're Mr. Pink.

who the heck is Mr. Pink?

he is from the movie "reservoir dogs"

Why Do I have to be Mr Brown?........ that's like being Mr Sh!t.

Well it's better then being Mr Pink....... that's like being Mr Gay.

[well something like that]

Cheers,

You should of told her she was lucky to even get a tip with such bad service.

well, usually i like to give her the benefit of the doubt. Even on the other tab, which was $30, my buddy left $38

Wow, that's way more than she deserves.

I would have said Oh I'm sorry let me fix that, then removed the tip completely. Then I would have asked to speak to the manager and tore him a new one.

I hate stupid people that think the world owes them something.

I have a funny feeling that you tip you say you left, wasn't the actual amount of the tip. A waitress would not make a scene over a gratuity of over 15%, which is the norm by the way. Also, the cut lip on the chipped glass thing sounds rather bogus.

In all seriousness I'd tell the manager about it tomorrow and just simply say "I'll never come here again and I'm telling everybody I know about it"

one of the people in my group was trying to convince me to go back and change it to nothing as well, but it was like 1:30 in the morning and i had just about enough of that place.

Was she hot?

she was like a bengals football player. The jersey are nice, but the helmet left something to be desired.

Don't worry about it then. You're supposed to tip >15% to the hot girls.

j/k :D

As a rule, I will NEVER tip if they mention it, and I will NEVER tip in the case of a pay-up-front scenario, if it's asked for on the receipt. I might leave one on the table if I have cash, but that's rare.

What do you mean by a pay-up-front scenario? When you pay before you eat or when you have to go to the counter in order to pay?

Like others before me, the tip was WELL more than fair considering how bad the service was.

My family went out to a nice italian place on vacation once. We got seated in the corner, and were forgotten about. We didn't get our food order in for like 45 minutes, and the place wasn't even that busy. Drink refills were non-existant, and the food was pretty meh. Our bill came out to more than $100, and we left a $3 tip.

On the flip side, on returning from a long road trip from CA with my g/f at the time, I gave out a $20 tip. When we sat down I said to the waiter "Hey man, we just had a really crappy trip back from LA, all I want is to make sure I always have some soda to drink, and you'll get $20". The tab came out to all of $50 or so.

Pay before you eat. It's common at buffets.
