starting to actively look for other jobs. I can't wait until the day i can step in, and give my 2 weeks notice to the asshats up high and leave like so many others...

edit: many has achieved this dream. I thought i could stick it out but i don't think i can anymore. The only thing that makes this place bearable is the co-workers. Misery loves company.

edit again: it's amazing how a raise changes the way I feel

don't need 2 weeks...just stop going, and when they call, just be like "nah, don't feel like going today"

Done that.

Of course, it was the kind of place where you call and sorta "negotiate" your hours every week, but whatever.

I would not do that. It is nice to leave on a good note just incase.

Exactly...its like why ??
I always like to leave on good notice unless they really piss me off to the ^ degree.

I gave two weeks notice and then spent two of the most boring weeks of my life at the job. I should have told them I was leaving for a competitor so they would have let me go immediately with two weeks of pay.

I have been working in the same place since June of 1998. In that time, I haven't dreaded coming into work. There is no stress here and I like to keep it like that. I am my own boss, and the people above me are as laid back as I am. My hours are flexible. If I want to sleep in a little bit then I can, and the company knows I am going to work after hours or on the weekends. I am paid decently. I could demand more if it was a high stress environment, and with all the freedoms I have I can't justify it.

Is this my dream job? I think it is, however I am going back to college to get my Masters degree because I want to teach college later in life. I have always had a desire to teach college, so maybe that will be my dream job.

Did it one time, and got a promotion, new boss, fat raise, and many open doors for other opportunities. Hey I ain't stupid, I stayed, and never regretted it.

The grass is always greener......until you gotta mow it.

If it's one thing I've learned in life, you will always have to deal with the "asshats up high".

Well I turned in my 2 weeks notice on Monday... Freaking people with just a little bit of power choose to abuse it. Which is why I'm outta here.

Me: [Partner's name], I don't think I can handle this 70 hours/week handling 3 clients at once anymore.
Partner: Let's talk about this.
Me: I'll take care of the current clients, but after this busy season I think I'm going to take a break.
Partner: You know promotion is coming up after busy season. 20% raise, and a bonus to come along with it.
Me: ...
