waiting for the cable guy sucks

i was told the 'service tech' will be here from 8-10...i got up at 8 to wait for him, now its 9 and no show yet...i could have slept an extra hour...
 
Talk to the guy whos water main broke and hes waiting on the city to come out and repair it.
 
hey if they don't show during the stated time, our cable company gives us a $25 credit. Has happened twice.

adelphia? those bastards scheduled a time for me and never showed up. then they told me that the next available opening was two weeks later. they wasted half my day and gave me $25 for it, yippee.
 
I hate all cable comanies I've dealt with. Just got Comcast in my new place, and the signal was too weak to run internet, so they tell me their going to charge me to do this and that... WTF it never worked from the start and this is my fault how? Luckily the tech that came out agreed and just gave us a free signal amp and hooked it up and went on his way. Bunch of sh1t they wanted to charge me because their signal was too weak here.
 
i'm dealing with comcast too. one day all of my digital channels stopped working. had to wait a week for the tech to show up today. but the csr said they'll credit me on my bill for the down time.

Nope. They just reschedule. If you don't have service, they give you an additional credit for additional down time, but it's best for everyone involved if you don't ask for it until the issue is fixed so they don't have to keep giving you smaller credits every day (cleaner billing).

However, you can call the local Comcast office and say "hey where's my tech" and sometimes they'll force the tech to go back out later in the day, outside of the time he was supposed to show in the first place.

no it's Cablevision. I didn't care since I'm home everyday anyway. I schedule them on weekdays. I would hate waiting for nothing on a weekend regardless of $$$ too.
 
At least they gave you a time frame. The gas company gave me a "anytime after noon" timeframe for when they will come out and turn on the gas.
 
waiting for anyone sucks. phone company, electric company, cable company, oil company, gas company,... time frame means nothign to them.

well, cable guy showed up. checked inside wiring, nothing wrong...went to outside and to my embarassment, the dog chewed up the wire going into the house, little fvcker.

I had him come last saturday 10:30-1... came at 2
