apparently, Judy Garland was treated horribly by the movie industry - they basically starved her so she would look skinny on screen.

i was watching some documentary the other night & one of her colleagues said they were in a parade with a bunch of candy.. they saw her eating it, in secret, as if she'd never had food before.. and afterwards, at a reception, the studio execs took her food away..
