Wait to install Win7 on Intel G2 SSD when TRIM firmware is out?

Hello,

I am about to do a complete fresh installation of Windows 7 and all of my applications on an Intel X25-M G2 drive. My question is this:

Should I wait until Intel releases the firmware update for the TRIM feature before installing everything?

Or is it OK to install everything, use it for a while then install the Intel firmware when released, apply the update and have the TRIM command functioning automatically on the drive.

Just wondering if it is important to have TRIM running from the start as opposed to after the drive has already had a bit of writing activity on it.

Thanks!

Yes it is fine to do this.
You should however install the SSD toolkit and run it ONCE after the new firmware is out to "catch up" trim for max performance. If you don't, performance will steadily improve to that point anyways as you use the drive.

they should be releasing the new firmware in any day now...might as well just wait.
