Wait....so XboxOne can play 360 games?

When did this happen? I've been living under a rock.

I just pulled the trigger on the SD deal for the $169 pre-owned and now I'm even more glad I did.

Edit....nevermind. I just read the title list. It's cool that they offer some titles, but it's pretty obvious they're not going after any 'recent' titles or anything worth playing. Sad the way the marketing machine talks such a thing up...

Only problem with these cowboom machines is they don't come with controllers. There's another $40 or so right there unless you can find used ones. I just sold a pair for $50.

Don't get too sad, they plan to add more games to the list in the future. MS is achieving this feat via an emulator, and as they improve the emulator they can add more games.

The reason why the list is currently just older games is the same reason why hobby emulators always emulate early games first- they are usually less demanding. For every generation of consoles the games that come out late in the lifecycle do all kinds of tricks that developers learn to maximize the console hardware. It takes longer for emulators to develop to the point that they can accommodate these tricks (which often rely on unpublished hardware quirks).

So expect it to get better going forward.

Yeah. I picked up a controller a few years back when I had to burn a Dell gift card and needed a filler. I've also got a spare 60" LED TV sitting around that's been in the box the past few years. I may have to set this up in my garage.

Awesome! Sounds like you are set. There's a deal going on right now if you have Live Gold where you can pick up xbox 360 versions of bioshock which are going to play on the xbox 1 in the very near future.

I got to play a few 360 games so far. They all held my old saves from the cloud which was nice.

Nice to download Halo Reach once again. The 30fps 720p without AA in a lot of these games look worse than I remember... funny thing, old games.

if you do the gold thing, you can add the 360's titles and as of now they've said that all 360 titles added as the monthly freebie with be playable on xb1. finally makes live a decent deal.

But all the games I downloaded on Xbox 360 are downloadable for Xbox One without additional cost.
