I'm wait listed at two medical schools so far...guys think I will get in? I thk I should get in since I thk that there are accepted kids waiting for better schools so they're holdin my spots :) I guess I would just start screaming if I got accepted, but I'm not disappointed with wait list by any means...especially after being rejected by my own school outright w/ no interview.

I'm waitlisted at SUNY Upstate and Albert Einstein so far. If you guys are curious. 3.38 GPA and 33 MCATs.

If you don't get in are you considering other alternatives, like Pharm or PA?

Good luck :)

i think you have a really good chance.
i know its not med skool but my boy got in off a waiting list for his program which is really competitive (5000 entires only 45 positions).
usually the waiting list is a good way in.

*kat. <-- thinks you have a good chance.-

Those MCAT scores look decent but your GPA might be the factor for the Wait List.
So dont know.
Hope you do, good luck.

If you are serious about med school, are you willing to go to a less prestegious school?

thx for the support :), but i was hoping to hear some stories about current fellow applicants? hehe. my gpa is so bad because the truth is...I'm lazy!!! it started with quake TF, then CS. i just found out brown has relateively low avg mcat/gpas...should have applied there...
with my GPA, I can only apply to lower tier schools...I should be able to stay in the US, and stay on track for an MD degree.

You're lazy and you want to go to med school!

Good luck! ;)

After hearing my sister's med school stories, I don't know whether I would recommend it. Then there's internship/residency...

Sleep...what's that???

Don't do it unless you're very dedicated to medicine.

On the bright side, my sister was rather lazy in undergrad (fairly low grades/MCATs)as well, but was lucky enough to get into U. of Vermont from the waitlist because she got into an interview and they loved her.

Now, she's a great doctor and has a private practice (10 years later).

Too much work for me personally.

I hope you make it in somewhere if it's want you really want to do with your life!

I think you have a chance. A friend of mine just got accepted into UT San Antonio with ~3.3 GPA and 34 MCAT, but he was the national judo champ which i think helped him a lot. On the other hand, I know tons and tons of people with 3.3-3.5 GPA's with mid 30 MCATs who didn't get in.
