Wait, I thought EVGA only made ONE nv680 board...

I remember that EVGA released a 680 SLI motherboard, which was just a Nvidia reference board. When it came out it had a ton of problems, IIRC, but now that the BIOS has been updated I was looking at it as a viable option again. But wait! Newegg has 3 evga boards listed (those are the Newegg prices)...

EVGA 122-CK-NF63-TR nForce 680i - $219.99
EVGA 122-CK-NF68-A1 nForce 680i - $249.99
EVGA 122-CK-NF68-T1 nForce 680i - $229.99

Now I'm really confused; what is the difference between these boards? Are they different revisions? Thanks for any help in this confusion...

Well, to be honest, i think one comes with the chipset fan while the other doesnt. And the A1 is also more stable with Quad Core overclocking.

I have the AR version. Its the predicesor to the A1. It Blows, and im waiting for an RMA after it got fubard on a bios flash. I'll be getting an A1 in the RMA swap. Advance RMA also, meaning they mail you first. :D evga rocks.

But i hear the A1's are awesome. So if your looking for that board, get the A1. 20 dollars is ~ 5 cups of starbucks coffee.

OK, so the A1 is the newest. I wish they would make it more clear when they release hardware revisions ("they" being hardware manufacturers in general).

Does anyone know what the differences are between the revisions, and how the best of those stacks up against the Asus P5N32-E 680i and P5N32-E SLI Plus?

thanks again for the info

The "A" boards have a lifetime warranty and the "T" boards have a two year warranty.

AR and A1 (lifetime warranty with the A1 being newer and quad core capable)

TR and T1 (two year warranty with the T1 being newer and quad core capable)

The A1 board also fixes some of th issues that plagued the earlier board. The lifetime warranty is a nice touch, not to mention eVGA will give you a new revision of your board (if another comes out) for free. IOW, a free upgrade. Nice!

Cool, Thanks a lot for the info.

Does anyone know how the latest EVGA board (A1 I guess) compares to other 680 boards like the Asus ones? I'm interested in the best performance for the price, and I know there are some 680 Asus boards that may be cheaper than the reference ones from EVGA...

Does anyone have these boards, or know of any recent reviews that compare them? It is so hard to decide on the motherboard for my build, as there are SO MANY choices...

Thanks again!

Well, more like 'better quad-core overclocking' than 'quad-core capable'. They are ALL quad-core capable.

And on another note, I have BIOS P23 Evaluation. Should I flash it to a newer BIOS?

O M G WHATEVER YOU DO DO NOT FLASH THAT STUPID BIOS.

Thats how i broke my board. I flashed because of a funked temp prob. It made my whole board unstable. Now im waiting for the A1 revision to come in the mail.

Blah... if you dont already have the A1 revision, i would recomend sending it in as a RMA.

the AR versions are horrible after you flashed it.
