Question Wait for turn off on PC

Hello,

I'm reading the troubleshooting course and instructor told:

Turn the gizmo off. wait. then turn it again. The wait step is necessary to avoid a quick on off cycle. which could potentially damage the electronics.so it's the best to pause. count to 10 and then turn on the device.

Could you please explain about this? Why electronics can be damage when PC turns on instantly after turn off?

Indeed. Most of us believe that rapid power-off/power-on cycles, are "hard on the hardware". Especially mechanical bits, like HDDs.

That didn't stop Intel and friends (BIOS makers), from implementing a sort of "double-POST", starting with Core2-era mobos, when using a non-default RAM or chipset strap (divider). Still a little freaky.

And AM4 rigs, will often do repeated reset power-cycles, if the RAM isn't detecting or timings are incorrect (RAM training).
