you know.. I thought PC133 was THE standard for sdram..but now.. we have DDRs..
what I'd like to know is.. what will be the fastest DDR DRAMs going to be?
Is pc2700 going to be THE standard for DDR memory technology?
If so, I wouldn't buy PC2100 memories.. since they are going to be obsolete quickly.

PC2700 isn't going to be used until early 1st or 2nd quarter 2002 is my understanding. If you want to wait until then with a new computer then I would.

Yeah, but that would be assuming that your new rig would be able to OC the FSB that high. IMHO, people place too much emphasis on "what is the fastest memory I can get?" Or words to that effect.

Just because your memory can do 160MHz, doesn't mean that the rest of your system can take it. Not all mobos have the 1/5 or 1/6 divider option to keep you PCI/AGP busses running at stock or safe speeds. Things that you need to look into B4 you get the PC3500 memory!

If you knew this, please excuse me, just trying to help! :) Later.

Yeah, forget PC2700 for now. Besides only 2 things are actually gonna use it, nForce w/GF3 MX and Pentium 4's, Athlon's don't need that kind of bandwidth yet.
