Wait for note 3 or S4 or HTC Max (verizon so I'm dreaming)

I just shattered my phone a couple of days ago. While it still works, I figure it's time I upgraded (Thunderbolt). I'd like a phablet although I haven't really been following things. Wondering if I should wait it out for the note 3 (is it likely to come soon?) or just give up and settle for the smaller S4. Also wondering what the chances are of the HTC One Max coming to Verizon (guessing none)?

I actually have insurance for my phone... so I can just get it replaced if I want to wait longer.

HTC Max is probably going to be on Verizon since the Droid DNA was but possibly under a different name.

If I was in your position, I would 100% wait for the Galaxy Note 3.

I have the Galaxy S4 and I wouldn't mind either smartphone however I really am interested on what Samsung has up its sleeves for its next Galaxy Note.

Why not look around for a used phone to tide you over till the Note 3 is released? I have the Note 2 and it's stunning, can't wait to see what they do with the 3.

Phone still works with the shatter screen. I'll either just use it or run the insurance until the note three is out I think.

I would wait. I mean, whichever you decide to get, you will be using it for 2+ years. Note 3 or whatever else should arrive in 2 months.

Edit: Forgot that you mentioned Verizon. That's kind of tough. Maybe there will be announcements ahead of releases?

Hmm, speaker seems kind of weak compared to my thunderbolt, and there's no kickstand : ( Not seeing what's so great about this. Also, I thought it'd be bigger.

I'm pretty happy with the SGS4 and the Note 3 will be like 300 when it comes out? I don't know I got 14 days to think it over I guess.

Still a great choice even though it was released 4 months ago.

If I was you though I would have waited what Samsung has up its sleeves for the Galaxy Note 3 but then again, the Galaxy S4 would still offer 80% of the features on the Galaxy Note 3.

Ok so after using it for a bit I have to say the samung ui is an utter abomination. Sense might not have been the height of UIs, but it was so much better than this crap. Is there an easy way to fix it this or do I have to root it?

You'd pretty much have to flash it with a new ROM. You should have listened to the guy who told you to wait for the LG. If not the G2 then the Optimus G Pro, that should be dropping soon too.

Just out of curiosity, but what don't you like about Touchwiz? I like it but I see a lot of people complain about it.

You could always install Nova launcher or similar without having to worry about root/custom ROMs.

My main gripe is the bulk of a lot of the tabs being taken up by some stupid samsung thing and an amazon thing and a "tell your story" thing (this might be changable, but it's not immediately obvious to me). There's a bunch of little things like the bottom being locked into a set of icons (I get it's for common ones but the home tab is sufficient for that; I don't need it locked into every tab).

there are other reasons.

coverage that is not total crap is a pretty big one IMO
