its an onboard chip...leverages technology from Microsofts XBOX...basically its an integrated Geforce 2MX, Audio Processor, and Mobo Chipset combined all in one for AMD platforms.

This 'thing' may be the best chipset since the 286 platform with 256KB on-board RAM. It's simply loaded and placed at an outstanding price. Unless you go MP with SCSI, this will be the motherboard to end all motherboards (AMD anyway). Au revoir SiS, Via, ALi. It's kinda too bad, it looked like SiS had its act together on the 735. Ah well, I just hope nVidia doesn't put up a monopoly on non-760MP boards. That could be very bad for industry.

<---- Wants nForce now! :D

Think about it.. if your sound card or video card ever stop working you still would have a great system.. perfect all in one solution to for people who only use the internet and aren't avid audiophiles (I'm talking past 5.1).. it's something I never expected.. all we need now is the built in TV tuner, capture card, Video in and out and we're set..

It's a highly integrated chipset that a whole lot of nVidiots are getting horny over.

The integratd components are pretty good right now, but in 6 months or a year they are going to be pretty mediocre.

ALi makes an integrated TNT2 chipset....that was pretty sweet when it came out...looks pretty feeble now though.

The nForce is probably the most sophisticated/advanced mobo design in ages with many innovations including dual channel DDR SDRAM and it's hardware prefetch on the northbridge. It's integrated LAN and Modem will not be "outdated" anytime soon. The GeForce2 MX will be though, but who cares. People will use their GF2 Pros and GF3's anyway. The sound portion is more advanced than anything on the market right now.

And if you don't care about the integrated stuff, Asus' boards STILL has 5 PCI slots and a CNR slot so it's a win-win situation.
