WAHOO. i already got an acceptance letter!!

well i applied to purdue, for computer engineering, and secondary as computer technology.

today in my mail i get a progress report (not so good) and a congratulations letter.

i didnt get accepted for engineering, but computer technology is just as high on my list as engineering, so hopefully my parents will let me go there, and be able to afford it.

thats the way you do it at UT... you apply to a major... generally if you can get into the college you can get into the major though some specific majors are limited.

involved in = tennis, basketball frosh, soph year, football frosh year, baseball frosh year.

gpa = 3.3, 110 outta 230 in class.

act =27., sat = 1120, thus act was better

no essay required, no teacher reccomendation required, just an application, transcript, test scores.

i know of a few colleges that require a major to be accepted, but purdues engineering school starts off with frosh level classes being for everyone, and you choose from there.

comp. technology has like 5 or more different branches too.

i think purdue is first tier but not any where close to top 10 ( not crapping on your acceptance or anything)

its top 10 for engineering, but i dunno bout computer technology, it has sub categories that are the actuak majors.

Well, if you do decide to go, maybe I'll see you around campus sometime. Then again, with 30K people, maybe not...

I was in the same boat as you with not getting accepted into comp engineering, but did get into comp science at purdue. I'll prob. end up doing computer technology instead of comp science if I decide to go to Purdue.

dont go for rankings. go for the school that has the program you want. rankings mean squat if you're not compatible.
