I'd like to kill the dumb fvck that came up with this design :|

2 choices:
1. Get it fixed at the dealership for $680
2. Fix it myself - radiator cost $144 at local parts store.

Oh well - there goes my day off.

I'd go with option 2.

My radiator cap is apparently starting to "seep" according to the oil change guys. I don't know if that means it is on its way to leaking or they just wanted to rip me off. Is this what your problem is or something else? Mine is a 92 Camry.

Yes, but everything other than the fins are plastic

OK! So if the coils and fins are not plastic, then how does the radiator being plastic have any effect on the radiator breaking?

I love the ghetto kids who try to pimp out their camry with fart-cans and big rims...

I just tell them what CAMRY stands for:

Car
Aint
Meant (to)
Race
YO

Plastic cracks a lot easier.

I had the same problem with my 96 camry. A huge crack on the plastic part of the radiator. I bought one of those aftermarket ones for about 150 and installation took less than 30 minutes.

Update - I would have been done by now, but the Haynes manual sez to remove the cooling fan shroud...the stupid thing is hydraulic, running off power steering fluid. The return line is easy enough to remove because it's just a clip, but the supply line goes to a 17mm union bolt - which is stuck like mutha-fvcker - snaped a socket head already trying to take it off. I'm gonna try to just unbolt the fan shroud and push it back w/o removing it and see if I can slip old radiator out and put the new one in. Damn it, why did Toyota go for hydraulic cooling fan in the 92 - 93 models...everyone else uses and electrical one :|.....can you tell I"m anti-Toyota...just for today :D

Tell that to BMW. All of their radiators are made of plastic and all of them break at around 100K miles.

Update - got the old radiator out w/o having to completely remove the hydraulic cooling fan...just pushed out of the way and angled the old radiator out...took a few minutes but not that bad. If you are wondering why I'm posting instead of finishing the damn job, it's raining down here in VA, and Im trying to work between the cloud bursts :D

Yeah, it's seeping near the plastic top. I noticed that my cooling fan was running faster than normal and the engine temps were starting to creep up. Finally, the odor of coolant became noticable after driving the car for a while.

My suggestion is to put a piece of cardboard between the new radiator and fan so incase you slip and hit the fan, only the cardboard will get damaged and you won't put a hole through the new radiator.
