Howdy folks. It's been a few months since I've been here, but let me describe my problem.
I just got my hands on a GeForce 256 card that has a connector problem (so I believe). What it does is it kind of "bleeds" the colors (meaning they "smear" or "blur" over out of the active window, as well as it in general looks darker than it should be). Now I know for fact it's the video card, as I've tried it in multiple computers and different monitors, all of which I know for fact work. There's no dispute it's the card.
Now, I've tried the latest manufacturer drivers as well as the reference drivers: no change. Here's the neat part: I installed a trial version of Hypersnap to take a screenshot of it so that I could look at the screenshot on another PC, and on that other PC, the shot looks beautiful. There's absolutely no blurring/bleeding/darkness/anything wrong. This leads me to believe that the monitor connector on it has a problem somewhere (bad pin? something on a pin?).
So, with all of that thrown down, is there anything I can do to resolve this? I'm thinking of picking up some contact cleaner, but I don't know how I can clean the pins since it's a female connector and well, the pins don't exactly stick out, ya know? I'd greatly appreciate some contstructive advice.
