I ran HdwDiag.exe and the following was shown.

Should I delete irqholder\62 in the registry? Thx

You experiencing any other problems/system instabilities? If not, I'd recommend you leave the registry well alone as you will cause more problems than you will solve.

Also, what's HdwDiag.exe???

I see I had one letter too many. Hwdiag.exe is a hardware diagnostic
program. The only problem I have is during shutdown. I have an ATX and,
during shutdown, Windows unloads etc and everything is fine except the
computer doesn't shut off. When the monitor lite changes from green to
orange, I have to hold the switch in until the computer shuts down. The
only problem I've located is with the IRQ holder for PCI steering.
My system got messed up and I had to replace the MB and restore the C
drive with a ghost image that was done with the old MB. Tyan to Aopen.
I've considered reinstalling W98 but, since this seems to be the only
problem, haven't rushed into doing so. Thanks for your response.

just built a new system for my wife with a soyo dragon+ and a XP-1500+ and it does the same thing about 50% of the time . other wise no problems. just told her to handle it the same way.

Well, what is prolly going on here is half your mobo resources probably aren't installed properly since you switch boards.

If you want to fix it, you should remove all your stuff from device manager (everything) and then do a forced hardware detect after you reboot. This will take several reboots as it detects more and more stuff.
