I grabbed the iso instead of going through WU.

No problems so far, but I haven't really done anything yet.

Install time is absolutely painful on my E3200 with WD 640 Blue. 54 minutes and counting and it still hasn't done its rebooting bit.

Install was 15 minutes or so on my I5/750 with 120GB Intel SSD.

I hope I don't regret this. :|

I am getting code 80200053 from Windows Update on 3 different PCs. This happens right around the 18 percent mark when downloading. Anyone else seeing this?

Same here, I wouldn't sweat it, it downloads 18% on my machine on Windows Update and I get and error 80200053. I noticed it was downloading very slowly up until then. I assume their servers are getting slammed because I have no issues with my setup that would cause that. I'll just try again later today or even tomorrow. Worse comes to worse i'll download the standalone version and install that.

Anyone try slipstreaming it yet? Might do a reformat when OpenSUSE 11.4 comes out later.

The last 2 on your list are the standalone installers. x64 is the 64-bot version, x86 is the 32-bit version. If you download through Windows update, the download size is smaller.

I got the .ISO from TechNet - a 2GB download. Burned a DVD, and then installed SP1 on 7 machines - 3 desktops and 4 laptops. All went beautifully, about 20-25 minutes each.

What I haven't noticed is any performance or behavior change in any of those systems. The end reult is Build 7601.

The version I got off of technet had a corrupt x86 installer. I tried 3 or 4 times and could never get it to work.

Warning to folks. Installed the update, it has broken my system. Whenever I launch and game, they will all crash out. Something with DirectX, 3D etc. has been broken by this update :/

The error is consistently related to nvd3dum.dll

Trying some other drivers atm, but I would steer clear of this update for the moment.

nv - well that has to be something related with nVidia.

I'm at my grandparents at the moment, installed on a W7 Home Premium 32-Bit system here through Windows Update. Flawless. If anything a slight performance increase on the desktop, though that may be a placebo effect. Haven't tried any games yet - will do (it's an AMD CPU and GPU system).

Yeah, games work fine for me - no performance increase that I've noticed though. But as I've kept an eye on what MS said they would put in the SP, I never came across them saying "performance increases".

I haven't had any problems gaming with SP1. What driver version are you using?
