[W7] Can't use explorer search bar (because persistant right click menu?)

Whenever I try to use the explorer search bar a "bing" sound plays when I try to type something in (it doesn't actually type anything, but I get the sound). At the same time a right click-type menu ... thing pops up (when I left click the search bar to enter my query - the one with "cut, copy, paste, delete, select all".

I can make it disappear when I right click somewhere else and the left click, but it comes back whenever I left click on the search bar and doesn't let me type in anything.

If it matters, this started happening right after I changed my display for a 32" TV (Never happened before that.).

I think I've figured out what's happening ... left clicking registers as both left and right clicking at the same time in some cases/programs (such as VLC ... I can't double click to set the image to full screen)

That sounds like a problem with your mouse. Have you tried using a different mouse? Or even just unplugging the mouse and plugging it into a different USB port to make Windows reinstall it?

I've since figured out what the problem was (sort of). It's not the individual peripherals.

I had 2 mice and 2 keyboards plugged in, and I fixed the issue when I removed one of each. What I don't understand is why the glitches started happening when I swicthed my display. As soon as I did that, the glitch popped up on my old windows install and my fresh install - but I never experienced it on my 17 incher.
