W7/64: Perpetually failing update

Every boot, I'm seeing the same thing. Windows Update, 0% complete. It stays there for a few minutes, times out, gives up, spends ~15 seconds reverting, and then boots normally.

Mostly, this is just an irritation that boot takes ~minutes instead of ~seconds. Any thoughts on how to remedy?

Its those 4 updates right? I had that.

Try installing them manually when you are in Windows itself. There was also a pack that I downloaded that had all of those updates in it. But try doing it manually, that should do the trick.

Dont know how this one made it past QA.

Just ran the install manually. Will reboot in a new minutes. For some reason it took a forum post for me to realize I could do it myself on W7. Ever since I left XP, I've been windows lame.

Thanks Ancalagon, for the quick reply.

Had same problem and doing a manual install worked for me as well. Thanks for posting this thread for I would of done a total restore and just have it happen again down the road.

No problem. Any opportunity to complain, especially about everyone's favorite product/company.
