w3k autoselects my gigabit adapter

I have w3k system with 2 adapters.

1. Integrated Via 100Megabit 192.168.1.2
2. PCI Intel 1000/GT desktop adapter 1Gbit 192.168.1.10

I use Bullet Proof FTP server software to upload and download files from the server and I select that only 192.168.1.2 is used for FTP server.

The problem:

When PCI Intel 1000/GT desktop adapter is in Gigabit mode and I download files from the server I the 192.168.1.2 adapter is not used. Instead w3k knows there is Gigabit available so it sends me the file using faster link.

While I can't complain I don't like faster speed 🙂 Because I use graphing tools and this adapter is dedicated it must be used only for WAN and not my LAN transfers.

If I send a file to server it is somehow received with correct adapter.

-----------------------------

If I set 100Megabit mode for PCI Intel 1000/GT desktop adapter everything works fine.

So where is the catch?

Oh and before anyone asks a "stupid" question like: use gigabit for lan you idiot not the other way around.

The gigabit as a chip that reduces main CPU usage, since I use this on VIA-EPIA mini-itx box and I transfer file over LAN once a few days I need reduced CPU usage and correct graphing.

in your advanced ip4 tcp/ip settings. put a 10 in metric interface for the 192.168.1.10 connection and a 20 for the 192.168.1.2 connection.
