Just wondering if anyone knows how to get it to stick at 21x multi? While booting it shows it at 21x200 but in windows it doesnt. Mobo is a ga-ex58-ud5

My first instinct is that you're seeing SpeedStep in action. Does it stay downclocked when you load the processor?

If I recall, that CPU will show one less multi then it runs at in windows. that was the beauty of the chip, I for get the feature's name but it only works under certain conditions..........

Windows CPUID is kinda wacky.

did u try loading up cpu-z to see if it was correct?

cpu-z showing it at 4.2, had it set to auto instead of just enabled for 21 multi... oops
cant figure why it isnt stable with 12g though
gah still stepping down to 20, crap

this is on a giggy board?

I assume ur Vcore or Vtt is not enough voltage.....

Ive been playing around with volts and also changed from 200x20 to 211x19 seems ok at the moment. Will adjust volts. Vcore at 1.34 vtt 1.35 i think

Still no luck getting it stable with 12g. Ran fine at 3.8 with the i7 920 c0 with 12g. Cant make sensebof it adjusting vtt isnt really helping. Any suggestions? Will do more research also

Seems good at 4.0 with 6g. Kinda gave up on trying to get it stable with 12. It was windows causing the throttling but fixed that started getting random errors @ 4.2 when teying to run 3dmark and a few other apps

I have the W3520 on the UD5 with x21 multi at 4.2GHz with 24GB of DDR3. So what you are trying should be possible.

I am away from my PC though so I can't check any settings for you right now.
