Got a few of the above error messages in the Application Log in Event Viewer. What does this mean?

Hi! The service is associated with appletalk (looks to be the performance counter dll to get appletalk peformance data). Did you install and then remove appletalk by any chance?

Man, you're on it! I get Appletalk errors too. When I tried to remove the Appletalk service, I get: "Appletalk printing also in use, can't remove" errors.

I guess I did install Appletalk...how do I remove it? Add/Remove Windows Components?

Thanks, bsobel! :)

Man, you're on it!

I figured I owed you at least one correct answer this weekend after not (hopefully yet) helping in your NAV corp thread.

I guess I did install Appletalk...how do I remove it? Add/Remove Windows Components?

I think it's under additional network components in Add/Remove windows components.

Best,
Bill

Hey Bill,

I'm going to uninstall all the Appletalk components; who knows, it might a few other Event Viewer messages too.

I went and reconfigured Auto Protect in NAV; it wasn't disabled *shrug* so I just went in and "unabled and reenabled" everything. I rebooted and now it's fine; "!" is gone. I have no idea what I did.

I'm learning as I go.

It won't let me uninstall the Appletalk protocol b/c it says it's still needed by Apple print sharing. Damn apples! I can't find Apple print sharing to delete it! Ideas?
