W2K will not recognize my PYRO 1394 drive kit!!!

I have a ADS Technologies PYRO 1394 hard drive kit with a 40 Western Digital 7200 rpm drive set to master.

I am trying to use it on my Dell 5000 laptop with a Western Digital PCMCIA card.

I've tested the drive on another computer and it works fine, the PCMCIA card works fine, just imported a DV.

I'm stuck. I can't seem to find the right drivers for it. Everytime the new hardware prompt pops up it shows the device as "_ _"

Anyone else have this problem?

Obvious things to check:

- do you have latest Win2K SP?
- does the drive work on another Win2K installation?

If it works on another Win2K box that isn't your laptop, then the problem is probably something to do with your laptop.

I have the latest service packs....i also have a HP Kayak Workstation with a maxtor 1394 pci card, I get the exact same errors there.
