W2K to XP Pro Upgrade Problem--Problem Solved

I did the upgrade with no problem, but left on some incompatible software--Norton Sytem Works 2001 and Easy CD Creator 4. I unistalled them in XP and installed compatible spftware. Everything seems to work fine, but when Windows starts there's a long pause at the desktop and I get an error message: "The DLL attempted to create the .sys driver as a service and failed." Anybody know what the problem is?

EDIT: The problem was with Motherboard Monitor. Uninstalling and re-installing did it. Uses a different driver.

It sounds like XP is trying to start one of those two programs and they are dying. Look through the services list and see if you can find anything that runs as a service. Norton does but I am not sure if it is this version or not. Anyway, right click on my computer, and select manage. Expand services and applications and then click on Services.
