W2k sp3+ Windows Update= no go?

When I try to go to Windows Update it will scan for updates, let me choose but when I got to install them I get an error, I noticed in the address bar there is XP listed along with windown update address.
 
Are you logged on with Adminstrator priveldges? What does the error say on the page? We need more info to help you.
 
I have had this error in the past.

Last time I got it, I waited a day and it worked.

If you really need the update now, search for it in the Knowledge Base. There you can DL it and install manually.
 
same thing happen to me when I update to SP3. My problem is solved by downloading IE 6 from downloading.com and reinstall. Hope the helps.
 

MS update & scan still have a few bugs to iron out.

I have had sporadic uninstallable with updates incudling SP2, and SP3 just 5 hours ago. Install IE seemed to work most of the the time as suggested above, but you could manually download Win2k SP3 to install: Full download SP3 (network install). As for the second method seemed to fix the update problem every single time MS update were a no go for me.
 
Win2000/sp3/Windows Update has been working fine for me. I've installed it about 4 times now since sp3 came out and it has worked 100% fine each time.

I have had occaisional trouble with WinUpdate before, but not with sp3 (so far, knock wood).
