I turned off ACPI on my W2K Advance Server computer to get it to run stable, but now it won't power down when I choose to shutdown. Beening look through the MS knowledge base couldn't really find anything helpful.

Any suggestions?
Thanks

You have to install the NT/APM legacy mode to get your shutdown working again. Here is how it is done in W2K pro but it should work on the advanced server too:

First make sure that the Microsoft ACPI driver isn't running (otherwise the NT/APM support will not install) go into device manager and in the view menu choose show hidden devices - under the Non-Plug and Play drivers make sure that the ACPI driver isn't present, if it is just disable it, don't uninstall that won't work - reboot - then by using hardware wizard go manually in and install the NT/APM legacy mode.

While looking for that driver I found: "Windows 2000 Server products do not support APM."

Doh... time to reformat and go back to workstation.... ARGH!!!

Thanks alot though
