I recently re-installed Win2K Server and everything is running fine. I am very new to the server version of W2K. It is installed on a P3-733 with an Asus P3-V4X and a 3dfx Voodoo 5500 video card.

Now, I am trying to install PowerDVD to watch DVD's. After successfully installing the software and configuring it, I get an error message when trying to run it. "PowerDVD is running thru Remote Terminal Services, Media content playback will be prohibited." What does this mean?? What do I have to do to resolve this issue? I have installed this app on W2K Server before without this problem, but I don't know much about Remote Terminal Services or why this time is different. Any help??

I have never installed terminal services on win2k for as a remote application server, only for remote administration services. What you might want to try is what you use with NT4 Terminal Server. run this from command line changeuser /install, then install the app, then after you are done do changeuser /remote (i'm pretty sure that's it, it's been a while). You could also just remove terminal services and reinstall the app and it should work. I really don't know what else you could have done to mess this up, unless you meant to make it a remote application server.

Also, why are you using the server version? Unless you are setting up a domain controller or DHCP/NAT server you really don't need it. It will just bog down your system more.
