W2K rigs not seeing each other

I have 2 dlink dfe 530tx+ NICs in 2 w2k boxes and a dlink switch...my problem is this;they don't see each other.One box consistantly sends packets, but the other one does not. I think I have netbeui and tcp/ip bound correctly to the nics(my buddy has the same setup and his works fine). my ip addresses are auto-set.they both belong to the same workgroup (default). what gives?

I figured it out...I re-installed my NIC into another PCI slot(methinks my sounblaster 64 soundcard was hogging pci4, along with its pci 5 position).
