I have a dual-boot system with W2K\W98SE and that is the difference in game performance. In W2K I have the VIA 4.29,MS AGP fix,2nd latest beta drivers for Radeon, and DX 8a. I don't have SP1 because it renders my HDD useless(INOPERABLE_BOOT_DEVICE_ERROR)
W2K UT 1600x1200 32t 32c everything maxed=35fps average while playing
W2K Q3 800x600 32c 32t bilinear everything maxed timedemo127h-30.4
W98SE UT same config-70fpr
W98SE Q3 same config=120fps
I have the Radeon tweaker that enables o\c'ing and tried different configs but none of them seem to help. I want to ditch 98SE alltogether but if the card is having trouble now all the new games could be almost unplayble. I was thinking about trying out Geforce2 Pro because I can et a good deal on it(I'm definately not buying a $600 vid card) and the benchmarks seem on par with W2K\W98SE. Is there anything I'm not doing that I should? I tried disabling some services but there was no difference. I also screwed around with some bios settings but that didn't help either. I hear of people getting better performance out of thier W2K\Radeon systems. Thanks in advance! Matt
