When my laptop is first logging into the domain (after a reboot) I noticed this process "kix32" PID 1156 in Taskmanager.

While it was there, it was using maybe 10% of CPU time and the HD was thrashing around. The HD stops thrashing around and this Kix32 thing is gone from the Taskmanager. I don't have any virus; ran a Norton scan.

What is it?

Kix is a scripting language used for, among other things, logon scripts.
Since you're on a domain, this makes perfect sense, if you wanna know exactly what it does, ask your admin, or have a look yourself :)
