W2K problem, after coming out of standby.

After coming out of standby I get a series of small icons, (one each time) telling me the network cable is unplugged, it is a small computer icon with an X thru it. Is their a way to tell my computer to ignore the network disconnect when going into standby?

No. There is no way to disable this.

yes there is because it drove me nuts for about a month till I figured it out
Device manager/Network adapter-expand the tree and click on your adapter, right click, properties, click power management tab,and de-select "allow the computer to shut off this device to save power".
