W2K Pro - MSPAINT.exe Causes Errors

Whenever I try to run mspaint on my Win2k machine at work, I get a message that says, "MSPAINT.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows." Any idea what is causing this, and how I can fix it.

By the way, I use MSPAINT to view and manipulate the output from our GIS software.

Try the command sfc /scannow at the command prompt.

You may be prompted to insert your Windows 2000 disc when while SFC verifies your files.

Thanks for the advice Andy. Howeer, Windows did not find any problems with its files, and the problem is still occurring.

What version of MS Office are you running?

If you did an upgrade of Office 2000 to Office XP, it might have wrecked the image filters. You can try to do a reinstall/repair of Office. Long shot, but it's an idea.

I logged in as a different user and paint works for that user account. Any suggestions on how I could fix the problematic user account?
