W2K: Pagefile.sys, must it reside on my root or system partition?

I have read where some of you have said that you do not have page files on your system directory (did I read this correctly?)
My question is: Can I move this file (pagefile.sys) and direct it to another partition besides the system partition?
It is rather large - 192Mb.

Sure, I always have mine in a separate partition. If dual booting with win98/ME, putting the pagefile in a separate partition makes it easy to share the pagefile (don't have to be in a separate partition to share it though).

Thanks guys,
I am getting short of space on my system partition and can use that 200Mb. Seems strange that next to it I have 10G free.

I knew I could count on this group for an answer.

Edit:
Loogie, where are you speaking of when you say
"system properties, performance options?

I can't find where that would apply to the output of this file. Can i simply move this file without any repercussion?

Control panel->system->advanced->performance option->change->change the location & size of pagefile

Make sure you change the pagefile in c: drive to "0".
