W2K old workgroup&computers

I recently rebuilt a small office network,
problem is the old workgroup name and old
computer names still show up in my network
places. This is just a basic tcp/ip network in
windows 2000.

I think you should be able to just right click and Delete those old Network Places.

I was told that the links reside in the master browser,
and will go away own thier own after an amount of time.
I replicated the problem on my home network and the old
workgroup and computers did go away after about 24hrs.
Also you dont have the option of deleteing a workgroup in
my network places in 2000 or xp.
