help, i can't install netmeeting in win2k, the one that came with win2k is not working anymore, and when i try to install from ms wbsite, it doesn't let me install, pleas help. thanx.

Get your W2K CD, you'll need it: you cannot install any version of NM you downloaded from MS, because of SFP. Then go to your INF folder, right-click msnetmtg.inf, and choose "Install".

Double check and make sure Netmeeting isnt already in Start->Programs->Accessories->Communications becuase it comes defualt in Win2k. Otherwise go to Control Panel -> Add/Remove programs ->Add/Remove Windows components to add it.

W2K does not have NetMeeting in the Add/Remove programs. This is why I posted the instructions above.

You cannot uninstall NM from W2K...if you try, W2K simply restores it automatically with SFP. You cannot install newer builds/releases of NM on W2K, again because of SFP.

Doesn't matter about running conf...NetMeeting IS installed on W2K. Period. No ands, ifs or buts about it.

conf.exe is the NetMeeting executable.

If it doesn't show up on the start menu, you can launch NetMeeting by running conf.exe.

If conf.exe won't run, then NetMeeting isn't installed.... which would be awfully hard to explain, as Slugbait is correct: NetMeeting is installed under W2K, and there's no way to remove it. (At least, not easily.)

Also, NetMeeting is protected by WFP, so it's really hard to accidentally get rid of it.
