Update: After making it as master on the secondary drive, it booted up. Then went back over to primary... seems okay now. d=
My second inaccessible boot device error in a week. Got first one from installing Service Pack 2 and fixed it by replacing the atapi.sys with the pre-SP2 atapi.sys file.
I got this one after I decided to try Maxtor's UDMA Update file on my Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 60 40GB(udmaupdt.exe at http://www.maxtor.com/products/diamondmax/techsupport/technicalprocedures/21009.html). I switched it to UDMA mode 5 (ata/100) and after a reboot, got the "inaccessible boot device" during the Windows 2000 splash screen. Reduced it down to UDMA mode 4 (ata/66), got the same problem. Tried Safe Mode, same problem.
Any clue guys on how to fix this? I'd really appreciate it.
