W2K keeps putting my E-mail address in my password box! WTF!!!!!!!!!!

I corrupted my regitry and had to reformat and reinstall 8-( When I loaded W2K I updated my modem driver and nothing else. When I used the connection Wizard to tell it what number,email address, and password to use I put all the info in the right place. But now when I try to connect it just says that the connection failed and no matter which way I try to change the password to the one I want it immediately puts the email address in there! I tried the control panel change too but that did the same thing! It did it on the earlier istall but I could at least change it connect. WTF!?!?!?! am I doing wrong? It is a fresh install with only the modem drivers loaded extra after fresh install(not an upgrade) When I connected in the other install I had no trouble online or any problems with the drivers. I have no idea what is going on. HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP!
