W2K install ........Can't get past setup ??

I keep getting this window, no matter how many times I reformat or re-install W2Kpro :

System Setup Log - (C:\WINNT\setuperr.log)

Error.

The D:\l386\NT5INF.CAT catalog file could not be found. the error code is 1. This is a fatal error.

Incorrect function.

I think the install W2K cd is corrupt .......... but the shop that sold it to me wants me to bring in my home built pc ...............?
I'll go back to WinME before that happens !!
Can anyone help .............?
