I am running W2K, IE5.5 SP1 on a 900mz P3 MSI BX-Master, 256Meg memory, 2-40GB Maxtor drive, dual booting with Win98 using IE5.01. My printer is an HP4+ on a networked W98 machine. Using W2K and IE5.5 SP1 and Print Preview, Selecting "Print" I get the following error:
---------------------------
Printing Error
---------------------------
There is not enough memory for this operation.
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
In addition, I now get the same error just trying to print from File, Print in IE5.5 (seems to use the same print module). These web pages I'm trying to print are uncomplicated and print just fine when using the W98/IE5.01/Network printer combo described above. In addition, MS Word 2000 documents print just fine both in W2K and W98 to the same printer, including HTML documents. Excel prints also. I have tons of memory (> 130mb) when trying to do this with no other programs loaded.
My question is - Does anybody else have problems printing web pages to a networked printer from W2K IE5.5 SP1? Or to any printer for that matter?
One more question, is there any way to turn off printer spooling in W2K like there is in W98? When printing to a network printer your already spooling at the printer end and the "double buffering" slows things down. Thanks in advance for any help.
