W2K hangs even in Safe Mode

I was messing around in Device Manager and change the setting from "standard computer" to "ACPI" in an attempt to get the thing to power off without pushing the power button after you close Windows. Now Windows hangs after the "starting Windows 2K " screen. Safe mode is no help--it still hangs at the same place. Any ideas. RRRRRRRRRRR
 

If you can't get into safe mode you have 2 options...

1) Boot from the ERD floppy disk... you do have one, don't you? 🙂
2) Boot from the Win2k CD-ROM and do a re-install.
