W2K fails to recognise dual BP6 processors

At boot up my bios says that there are 2 cpu's, but when I look at the enviromental variables in the control panel of w2k, it says 1 for number of processors. When I attempt to "edit" it to "2", and reboot, nothing happens. The cpu performance monitor in the task manager confirms that only one cpu is working. ?? Any suggestions??

Check Device Manager for computer type. If it's Standard PC, you can change the driver to MPS Multiprocessor PC. If it's ACPI PC, you can change to ACPI Multiprocessor PC. Don't, however, attempt to change ACPI setting in this manner, else w2k won't boot. To change ACPI (on or off) you've got to do a repair install.

Thanks, I did an "upgrade" reinstall, and now it shows both CPU's and of course I still have my settings and programs intack. And... it is really fast!
