Help! I recently reinstalled w2k and at a certain point during installation, the CD rom becomes unavailable and if I continue with installation, the drive is never found. So, im sitting here with a fine w2k install but no CD roms... Tell me if ive done something stupid. Can I install the IDE CDroms manually? I figured everything under W2k was plug and play, especially in that department, i dont even see a CD rom secion under the hardware wizard. Im stuck... Please help

I'm also having problems with Win2k trying to detect my cdburner. In a previous post somewhere someone gave me this link

But i'm having problems with the aspichk.exe file. When I try to run it, windows says that it has generated errors and has logged it and closes out.

No, thats not the problem for me, the problem is that there is NO CD DRIVE on the computer. It tells me that it cant find a file in the folder i386 on the windows 2000 setup CD rom. It gives you the option of telling setup where the file is, and when i click on my computer there is NO CD ROM. I am VERY distraught. Ive asked every tech guru i know and the only answer i get is "What is THAT? WTF is THAT?!" Im slowly going insane. I recently tried it with a new DVD rom, but i got the same results. Im desperate.
