I've been using an isdn line for internet connection for the last while.
I upgraded from an internal ta to an external router (my isp does'nt support ms-compression & w2k does'nt do stac & I spend quite a lot of time on usenet hence the change).
There are two computers on the lan - one w2k and one w98se. Both are now served by the router where before they each had a ta.
The problem is (not actually a big prob - just an annoyance) that each time the w2k box is restarted it opens an internet connection. The w98 box is fine (ie doesnt do this). After the connection is closed the box does'nt try to dial out again (at least not during the last 12hrs) which makes me think its not some rogue program periodically trying to establish a connection.
Any ideas whats causing this?
