I have installed w2k as part of a dual boot system. Windows 98se on drive c and w2k on drive d.........2 different harddrives. In trying to set up my internet connection in w2k, I have gone through the wizard 3 or 4 times and have attempted to manually enter the info, but the same problem always occurs. My sign on password is recorded incorrectly. I know it sounds strange, but when I enter a 6 character password, a 16 character password is entered in the dial up networking box. User name stays OK, and it appears that the password is OK until I cannot connect, and go back and check properties, or settings, and my password is shown as 16 characters. Anyone else had this problem or know a fix?

I am not aware of your particular problem but could it be that w2k have taken your login password and used it as your dial up one? Is your username for w2k same as the one for your ISP?

Yes, my w2k user name and password are the same as my ISP username aand password. I can't figure out where the 16 character password comes from...............12 I could see.....double the original, but 16 characters?

Yes my w2k username and pasword are the same as my ISP. I could possibly understand the error if it was changing 6characters to 12, but not to 16.
