I have completely backed up my c: drive that contains W2k, using 2k's backup utility and selected "everything" on the C drive to be backed up.
(about 775Mb including program files).
If I wiped out c:, can I simply reinstall 2K back on c and then execute the "restore" command in the backup utility to regain all my drivers, settings, and Registry stuff. Will this bring me back to original setup?
If not, what is the best way to do this?

I don't see why that would not work.
You should consider using Norton Ghost.
It'll make a copy of your current HD, so if you F%$# up somehow and are unable to boot, you can quickly restore your computer.
