My company uses Wordperfect, thus I do not have MS Office.

Is there a way to convert .bmp/.gif using a program that comes with Win2k? (MS Paint does not have the converter. The .jpg converter is installed when you install Office.)

THX

edit:
I can't load any non-standard apps on my computer without a waiver from IT. And i don't feel like doing it.

The reason why i want a .jpg converter is that i'm doing screen captures and writing a work document. and those pics total 11meg in size. if they were .jpg, it would be less than a meg total.

high JPEG compression is going to make your docuements look like crap. JPEG is lossy, which means information is loss on compression, and so text becomes blotchy and unclear. you should be using GIF or PNG, which are both lossless
(no information lost). this will preserve the exact image (given the palette is less than 256 colors for GIF)

If you have the DEFAULT install on Win2k, KODAK IMAGING
should be installed. You can open the file in that and save
as JPEG.

Exactly. Start--> Programs--> Accessories--> Imaging.

Provided you have the default Win2000 set-up.

It's a Open Source XWindows port of GNUImage Manipulation Program.

It is compared as a very limited version of Photoshop.

GIMP 1.2.5

Kodak Imaging would do the job you are looking to do.
