So I'm probably the only person who runs 2k and reads anandtech to NOT have SP 2 installed, I've just been busy fixing other problems with my machine. I've finally fix my other problems and decided to FINALLY install SP 2 last night, but sadly I don't have enough space on my system partition. I have 3 partitions, 2.5 gig (system), 12 gig (primary storage), 30 gig (secondary storage). I have 140 MB free on my system partition, this is apparently not enough to install SP2. I've removed pretty much all I can from that drive and the install seems to work but it's the Backup files that are killing me. It says I need to have an addtional 368 MB for backup files. Is there a way to disable backing up on the install? I really don't think I can free that much space up. Thanks in advance

uncheck backup files... it asks you if you want to or not. you really should have more free space on that system partition....

I don't remember seeing that check box... i don't remember seeing any check boxes. I just agreed to the terms and it started to install... I'll look again though.

Why do you say I should have more free space on that partition?

install partition magic 6 and move some of that free space on the storage partitions over to your system partition. make it 5gb
