W2K and mouse problems

I have the MS Intellimouse w/ Intellieye. Has worked fine for months with 98 and for a couple weeks with W2K. But now in the middle of a game the mouse pointer will appear right over top my crosshair. It is usually the hourglass (busy) and it's flickering almost like it's bleeding through. If I quit UT and restart it comes back within minutes. I reinstalled the latest mouse drivers (3.2) to no avail. Any ideas?
