Ok, I am trying to figure out how to improve the burst read performance of my hard drive running W2K on an Abit BE6 w/ the HPT366 controller. I have the latest bios and drivers. The HPT366 bios reports the drive running at UDMA 4. I ran HD Tach and the burst test came back with 10MB/s. My older drive on the motherboard controller had a higher burst read of 27MB/s. So, could some of you please post your results. Also, if you have any thoughts of what is causing this problem please help.
My hard drive on the HPT366 is a WD Expert 7200 18GB.
